The price was good and the quality seems to be good. I was able zip through a fallen tree about 3’ in diameter like a hot knife through butter.

My Echo is not that old but for whatever reason the bar wore uneven. Even with a sharp chain I was getting a crooked "J" shaped cut in thicker logs and the chain would side rub, heat up and slow the cutting action tremendously. This morning a installed this bar and chain combo and I could not be more impressed. I took down a dead cherry tree in no time. Then I moved on to a 16" across Locust tree that was wet with spring sap. If you have never cut Locust I will tell you even a sharp chain will struggle. It was like cutting butter. The chain was throwing seriously impressive chips instead of the usual Locust dust I have experienced for 40 years. 4 stars because tomorrow is another day, but looking forward to 5 star satisfaction. These are made in China, but so are the Oregon and the bar that came with the Echo. If only my sore back could keep up!

A great price for everything

First chain didn’t roll on bar properly. Second chain did. Second chain cut pretty good until 25 minutes into cutting up logs and jumped off bar. I figured it stretched a bit. Adjusted, tightened, started back up and it didn’t seem that it was cutting as good. Swapped out to third chain, it did the same thing 15 minutes into cutting the same logs. Swapped back to my original bar and chains to finish out the job. Used one of my original chains to finish 2 hours of work. I have a Husqvarna Chainsaw that I was hoping to swap chains and bars between jobs. Not likely to happen with this set. Not sure if I could return them since I tried them out.

Ordered a six pack of 18 inch chains for about 6 bucks apiece. Was suspecting low quality at this low price. Did not stretch quickly, nor dull after hours of use. I have used many brand chains and these beat them all. Was so impressed I reordered another pack that came with a new bar. It also surpassed my expectations. Can’t go wrong with this product.

The rotating part at the top of the bar broke off inside the bar & now it's no longer usable .. after ONLY TWO WEEKS .. and i have a full time job.. so, it's not like i chainsawed that much in two weeks .. just contacted seller & waiting on a response ..Seller mailed me a new bar !i used it 3 days & the SAME THING HAPPENED ?!?! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.. but, i'm not sure why their bars are breaking .. i have an ECHO chainsaw & i had a cheap craftsman bar i used for months with no issue after my original bar was damaged .. original bar lasted 8 years .. craftsman bar was damaged by my friend .. these bars were only used by me & just can't handle normal tree cutting 😕

I never leave reviews, because usually i'm just "happy enough" with my purchase, as you expect something to work for the money you paid. Well, I felt inclined to leave a review on these Upstart bars and chains, as they work every bit as good as the Echo Bar and Oregon Chains I've bought, but at 1/3 the price! WOW! I go through a bar and 5-7 chains a year, so these are a real money saver! I have 2 Echo saws (18" and 24"), which I love, and the Upstart bars and chains work great for both! Don't hesitate - great value!

I have several chainsaws that I use for cutting and trimming trees, stump removal, firewood cutting for myself and for sale to customers and even wood carvings. I have tried every major brand of bars, chain and sprockets. I have even bought chain on 100 foot long spools in an attempt to keep my costs down. When I saw these on Amazon I had to try them. The quality is as good as any of the others. But the price is a lot lower. They fit my saws perfectly and hold their edge well. I haven’t sharpened any of them yet (I like to have several to do at the same time). I will update you when I have a little more experience with them, but as of now I expect to be buying more.
