You can place cards on the Logistics side to gain ongoing bonuses, or the Operations side which provides a one-time opportunity. If you place them on the Logistics side, Ships allow you to play more cards in the round, Technologies gain you unique abilities, and Planets produce one type of Resources. Remember, each of these cards can be used a totally different way!
