Bought it to decorate a small box that I had built. It's sturdy, good looking and arrives on-time.

OK - I admit it - I love cigar boxes. They have very colorful product labels, and they are well made with nice wood. You can buy them at cigar shops for a few bucks BUT they have terrible hardware. This kit addresses this problem. The hinges and clasps are way better than you get with your old cigar box. They are also good looking, and add a touch of "class" to your box. The last great thing about this product is that you get enough for 20 boxes. No matter how cigar-box-crazy I will ever get, this supply will last a long time!

I purchased five kits for Recipe boxes I built. The box dimensions are (7" x 6" x 4.5") to give some perspective on the size of the components. I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews but the kits were complete and had enough screws and nails to complete several boxes. Out of the five kits I purchased, two had pins for the clasp that fell out. These were easily fixed by replacing the pins and peening the ends of the clasps barrel to hold them in. In the reviews I read some had issues with the nails and screws. They are indeed small and hard to work with, but I found predrilling the holes for the screws made installation easier and using a sharp awl to punch a small hole for the nails enabled me to push the nails in enough that they would stick in the holes and allow me to hammer them in. The corner pieces are split on one end and slightly sprung to accommodate corners that are not square. I found using some long needle nose plyers to pre-bend them square made installing the nails in them much easier. You don't have to squeeze them shut while trying to drive the nails in. Overall, I was pleased with my purchase and the quality of the kits.

Great product

I really liked this complete box set. The only issue is it comes with screws and small nails. All of the pre drilled holes were to big for the nails so they cannot be used.Also, the scree heads stick up off the pieces pretty far and don't counter sink very well.

I ordered two identical sets for a project and only needed individual pieces. Of the sets one arrive with one broken half of a two part latch. The broken piece was in the sealed package. The second set also had the same piece broken at the holes to attach the part with the included screws, however the other side of the two part latch was not in the sealed product bag, when it arrived. I do recommend the product, due to parts included, if your in need of individual parts for your projects, because so far I have been unable to locate the parts I needed individually or in any other kits.If, your ordering them for the two part latches, I don't recommend this set. 2 out of 2 arrived broken and unuseable. These are potmetal and brittle, I recommend using caution not to over tighten screws or stress the metal.One handle did arrive misshapen & cannot be straightened or it will snap.If, your ordering the kit for the handle order a second set or a back up handle separately.

Nice hinges. The screws are very tiny and sit a bit proud of the hinges when installed. overall, well worth the money. Just be ready to find your smallest screwdriver to install them and be sure to drill a pilot hole. I found 1/16th works well for black walnut.

Came without handle and lock. One wing on the corner part is broken.
