Helikon-TexUS Model Surplus Line Poncho

Great product
Great product as I have come to expect from Helikon. I have their "Swagman" roll and the combination is very effective as we are coming into Autumn. Very water repellant though I have not had it in heavy rains yet. I like the pattern better than traditional woodland, but that is personal and regional preference. After growing accustomed to Swiss ponchos for some years the thickness of the material at first concerned me but so far has proven no problem. I needed something that packed down smaller and was lighter to carry, this has done that very well. A bit pricier than equivalent competitors but if you have the resources it is a well worth the price to up-grade.

Must have
Strong material, packs smaller than other tarps for hammocking. I wear it in the cold water, use it as a beach blanket, lay on the ground anywhere. its even didnt burn from embers around the fire. My favorite piece of gear. It is just a tiny bit long. not dragging but, im short so

Love it!
This is a great rain poncho. I have the swag roll that goes with it. Top notch material and keeps your body heat in.

A good poncho.
Close to the US military poncho. A little smaller but just as thick. Well made. Good for outdoor activity’s of all kind, works well as a tarp keeps the water out. What else can I say it’s a green poncho that works. It’s a bit heavy that’s good for serious abuse but not good if your trying to keep your pack light. Will work as a emergency shelter. Good to keep in your car or bag for emergency’s.

Good poncho
This is a pretty sturdy poncho. The M81 type pattern looks as it should. Fits well, covers what it needs to. Got this to go with my swagman roll.

A Great US Military Pattern Poncho
This poncho is a near exact copy of the US military ponchos that used to be available at any gun show for $20 a decade or so back. It's a little thinner than the US surplus ones and made of polyester and not nylon, but it is just as strong and waterproof. The neck-hole is smaller than the surplus one too, but even with a bucket for a head I can out it on easily. One of the benefits of a smaller hood and opening is that it fits a little more snugly and let's less rain in than a surplus poncho. Ideally, you'd wear a ball cap or other brimmed hat under it and be truly good to go.This does unsnap and fold open for use as a tarp and also mates up with the surplus poncho liner nicely. If you can find one under $50 then buy it.

Good to go!
I took this out to a camping trip where it rained most of the time. I put the hood on and used a waterproof boonie hat on top of that to shed water away from my face. Worked perfectly! Haven't used it as a shelter yet, though I'm sure it'll work just fine as intended. It packs up small and is very light weight.

Great product
Not the most durable but it works! 2x snaps tore off. I combo this product with a wool sweater and wool took. I can be outside in 0C (32F) with blowing winds.

Totalmente impermeable...
Recomendado!
