Will there be a future adapter that supports variable refresh rate?
Does this require a tv/screen that supports dsc, or is that just required for the source?
would it connect series x to a monitor that has dp1.4 ? because the monitor has HDMI 2.0 not 2.1 ... if not any devices you guys have can do this ?
Does this support custom resolutions such as 3840x1440p @ 120hz?

Lg C9 and 1080 ti - achieved stable 4k 120Hz @ 4:2:2 - worked for me

Was skeptical if this was going to work - I have a 55" LG C9 (2019) running 05.25.07 firmware, and an EVGA 1080 ti running 511.23 drivers. Because my gfx card was not a 20 series RTX, I wasn't sure if this would get me 4K 120Hz, but with some tweaking I have achieved a successful result. I understand that I could likely achieve 4:4:4 colorspace using CRU (custom resolution utility), but with 4:2:2 I don't notice much difference at all from 4:4:4.I was getting overscan - 4K desktop & 4K games were rendering slightly past the bezels of the monitor, cutting off the taskbar and other edge items. There are a number of proposed solutions to this - but none of the desktop scaling functions helped me. The one setting that worked for me was going into the C9's "Aspect Ratio Settings" and turning "Just Scan" to On (Auto and Off both presented overscan).I am using a 6 ft HDMI 2.1 cable, and USB-C power from a wall outlet. I have not had to unplug - plug in the power to get the adapter to continue to work - it has remained stable & working. I hope this helps someone else with similar monitor / gfx card specs make a more informed purchase. Thank you Club 3D for helping my monitor look even better.

First time club3d has failed me

Ordered this a few months ago. Wish I had time to test it during the return window. I plugged it in, and it immediately gave me a picture. Changed my settings in Kodi and immediately got audio output to the receiver. All good. Watched a movie, turned off the htpc for the night. Next day, booted up, and no signal. My receiver was freaking out with this thing connected, couldn't decode the input signal at all (and my receiver is the GOAT, Denon A110). Rebooted, unplugged and replugged the USB cable, tried the other displayports, nothing. Hasn't output a single pixel since. Going to try RMAing the thing, if I get one that's not a single-use item, I'll update my review. But for now, can't recommend this. Unfortunate, as I usually recommend club3d to people.

Useful converter, could use better documentation

The capabilities of this device vary wildly depending on the firmware on the device itself, the graphics card drivers of the gpu it's connected to, and depending on the age of your gpu, possibly even the firmware of the gpu. There don't seem to be any hard and fast rules to let you know what to expect when you connect it, which can make for a frustrating experience if you expect it to be capable of everything display port output on your gpu is capable of.When connected to an rtx 2080 ti, it could do 4k120hz, but only in 4:2:0 mode while connected to my LG C1. Swapping out the gpu only, to an rtx 3070, 4k120hz with full rgb is possible. No configuration on my system, TV, or driver version seems to allow for VRR support. I've come across posts that suggest firmware updates from club3d may allow for gsync / vrr to work, but they don't post the firmware on their website - the only way to get updates is to email their support directly. There's no guarantee of how many business days you'll be waiting before they see fit to send it to you, either. It works well enough for my needs, but it's decidedly capable than what native display port or hdmi output from you gpu can do in most use cases.

16" Macbook Pro, 5600M - WORKING HDR 4K 120Hz (47" LG CX)

I have a 16" MacBook Pro with a 5600M graphics card that technically supports DisplayPort 1.4 and I've tried all the combinations of adapters/cables available. This is the ONLY solution I've found that allows for 4K 120Hz HDR settings within macOS Big Sur without compromises in color bit depth.I have a single cable solution to my MBP that provides:- 100W power- 47" LG CX as a display @ HDR 4K 120Hz- All peripherals (MIDI devices, iLok, USB drives, Stream Deck, ethernet, etc.)- Daisy-chained Thunderbolt 3 audio interface (UA QUAD Apollo Twin X)All of this plugs into my MBP via a single cable connected to my 120W HP G2 Thunderbolt 3 dock.I've literally tried every single adapter combination that Club3D offers and for some reason their USB-C to DP1.4 (CAC-1567) does NOT work with this setup. I have to use the DP 1.4 port on my HP G2 dock. I also have a direct USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable working without HDR, but it only works when plugged directly into my MBP and it requires purchasing software (SwitchResX) to get 4K @ 120Hz working. This adapter works natively without any third party software.
