I use these seeds to make cat grass for my girlfriend's cat that constantly gets hairballs so bad that my girlfriend gives her a paste daily and the cat still gets hairballs stuck in her system and sometimes needs to go to the vet. Her cat goes crazy for this stuff. As long as she's munching on it each day, it keeps her hairballs in check and she is in a better mood, more playful, and seems to handle the hairballs just fine.I've been buying generic, organic bulk wheat seeds at my local hippie grocery store. I have no doubt their seeds are high quality, and the grass grows fine. But I ordered some of these Back to the Roots seeds recently (I'd seen other Back to the Roots stuff like mushroom kits) and made a few little containers of cat grass and holy moly - pretty much all of the seeds sprouted and grew very fast, and the resulting grass was super lush and green. It puts the other seeds I was buying to shame. And it was a good price!

This is perfect for my cat, salads, pastas, and smoothies. Adds lots of nutrients.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this to grow for my cat,.she loves wheatgrass. My growing conditions honestly, probably weren't the best. I didn't have a sprouting tray like some do and have been so busy I didn't take the time to buy one...instead, I took a small rectangular glass bowl, soaked my seeds per directions, lined the bowl with folded up wet paper towels, dumped the seeds on top and sat it by a window that only gets outside shaded light. I watered when it seemed dry, sometimes a daily sprinkling of water. I never let them dry out. Took about a week to get about 4" growth, but I imagine had I placed it in a sunny location, it would've thrived more. My germination rate from best I can see, is roughly 50-60% and again, had I had ideal growing trays and sunny location they'd have probably done much better. But overall I won't complain, they grew on paper towels! Look at my video and pictures, I tried to show how well they sprouted and you can kind of see some of the seeds did not. Over all I'm very happy and I'm sure my cat will be thrilled later today when I give this to her.

arrived earlier than expected, and was a way heavier bag of seeds than i anticipated! filled to the top and vacuum sealed, very much appreciated. started germinating a big handful of the seeds yesterday afternoon and they're already sprouting as of this afternoon, looks like all but MAYBE one or two has successfully sprouted. that's amazing! this is my 3rd purchase from Back to the Roots and im yet to be disappointed! great company and great quality products. will order again when i run out (if i ever do)!

My cats like this grass and I like that it's organic. Remember to soak the seeds for at least 8 hours before planting. I did not do this the first time, even though the instructions tell you to, and nothing grow. The second time I soaked the seeds and they grow!!

The only thing i had to do was to replace water once a day and it worked amazingly! It is very healthy and my cat enjoyed them a lot. Definitely worth it.
