Pomonas Universal Pectin Fruit & Vegetable Concentrate, 1.1 oz

Don’t waste time and money looking for this special product for making jams and jellies . Order on line and you will have it ready for fruit season . I want to try Pomona’s universal Pictin to cut down on the amount of sugar in making plum jam .

Best pectin I have used for low sugar preserves. Will definitely use it again

I lOVE Pomonas! Makes me feel better knowing that my kids are eating Jam that is mostly berries rather than mostly sugar. Mine always sets great. You get 3-5 batches out of it. So even though it seems more expensive, it comes out about the same as other more well known pectin brands.

My mom always used Pomona Pectin so I do too. I like that I don’t have to use as much sugar as with other pectins. I still throw some lemon juice in to help maintain the color. Don’t know if it helps or not but I like the end results.

My goal was to make low sugar chokecherry jelly and this pectin was really expensive considering the single packet only made about 10 half pint jars even though it claims to make up to 20 (8 oz) jars. The calcium water is an extra step in the process. I also tried Ball's low/no sugar pectin from grocery store. The flavor, consistency and ease of making the jelly was much better with Ball's. Wouldn't recommend Pomona's. The consistency of the Pomona's jelly was more like canned cranberry sauce.

Just like it says, you can use any type of sweetener and it calls for half (sometimes less) of the normal sugar for jelly and jam. Perfect for those who want to cut down on the sugar and still want jelly. Great product!!

The texture was off for me. Will try again and will update review if I have a different outcome.
