I installed this after my sunroof drain clogged (without me knowing) and rain water backed up into my car and fried my last one. The only way it will open the hatch is by using the button in the car. The remote doesn’t work with it AND the outside button on the hatch doesn’t work with it either.

I googled the problem with my car, purchased this and alleviated an $800 costly repair. My weep holes on my panoramic roof were clogged, which allowed water to puddle in my cargo bay. It put this part underwater. I dried up the water, drilled new weep holes in the bottom of the cargo bay, sprayed with bedliner to prevent rust in the future and blew out the weep holes for the moon roof. Installed the new component and WE ARE IN BUSINESS. Not having a tailgate functioning was horrible. All I can say is.... Girl Power here!!!

I had the common problem on many Cadillacs that the drain tubes for the sun roof fail. This part was easy enough to install, the pain is removing all the interior panels to get to the tubes to fix them so this does not fail again. This works fine, and is a fraction of the price for the Cadillac dealer part

Installed. Unlatched the door but as is stated -- dealer needs to calibrate and program. Dealer indicated they could not calibrate the unit -- had to go OEM fir $500.

Unplug the battery put it in connected the battery. It work like it should..
