Ocean Blue Water Products Electric Cover Pool Pump, 350 GPH

First: I'm very good at updating reviews if the situation changes so even though I just got this pump I can't speak to durability yet, but if it turns out to have a poor lifespan you can bet I'll be back updating this review. That said, I love this thing. I like that really long electrical cord that is intended to keep you away from the water and getting electrocuted when plugging this thing in. I also like the hose connection being on the side rather than the top which can lead to a kinked hose. After fighting plastic pool covers that constantly tear and sink and never lasted a full season I bought a heavy duty cover that I really like. The only problem was it collects a lot of rain water with no easy way to drain the water off. Even though my new cover is much more durable than the old covers I had tried, as it filled with water it was inevitable that it would try to sink and possibly tear. Meanwhile, I'd have all this water fermenting on top of the cover. Enter this pump. I hooked it to my garden hose, plugged it in and watched it pull all the water off the pool cover. I used the pool brush to pull the last inevitable little puddles of water on the cover towards the pump. A number of reviews mention problems with the pump or pump filter clogging up. Since I've only used my pump twice as of this writing, I haven't experienced that, but as a preventative measure when I set the pump on top of my pool cover I set it in the leaf net. You know, that net you use to scoop leaves off the surface of you pool during the summer. I figure as the water on the cover moves towards the pump bringing debris with it, the pump removes said water and the leaf net will help to filter out larger debris and keep it from getting into the pump. So far so good. I may purchase one of those filter bags that you use on a pond pump to improve on this idea. If my pump starts acting up or malfunctioning in the future you can bet I'll be back here sharing that info. As it stands right now I'm happy with this pump.

worked great to remove the water from the top of my pool cover. was not looking for anything to do it fast, so this worked perfectly. great value for the money

For use on the top of the pool, it's perfect. I don't know how GPM is measured on these devices, but what's advertised is nowhere near reality. Nonetheless, this pump works as needed. It comes with a little filter, but I find it works better without it.

The good, it works, it is small, and has a long chord. The bad, it says it has an on/off switch, but can’t find one, turns on when plugged in. Moves about 6gpm.

We have 2 that we have been using for a few year now that are still going strong! We just bought a third one to have just as a back up. It’s super rainy in Florida and I can say we have used them to pump the water off our pool cover during the storms. They keep up and are a strong little thing! They don’t look like they have a lot of power but they do!! Have come with a catch mesh in the inside that is removable as well. We did take them out, just worked better for us. Would highly recommended this for anyone in need of a pump or just needing it to get water out of an area!

Pump auto on/off will not work with rain water!! I can put it in a bucket of city water from the faucet and it works perfectly. Put it in a wading pool with rain water and it won't come on. I even started it pumping in city water and transferred it to the rain water and it quit.i bought 5 of these and they all did the same thing.Should have sent back but needed them at the time. I just jumped the 2 level screws and ran them manually.Anyone else have this issue? They Pumps great once jumped.

We bought this to drain rain water off our pool cover. Very easy use. We use as suggested in other reviews and if we are not going to be watching it we plug in to start pump/ water flow then unplug power while water continues to flow wo having to watch pump. For smaller amounts of water it is fast and convenient. It comes apart easily for cleaning filter and i routinely remove bottom plate/foot so can attach the hose more easily. We are very happy with this pump and have used it multiple times. It has a good long cord and stand upright well in pool cover water.

Works well in the low spots in our cellar.

Bought this because I left my old one on for 3 days straight running dry. This one out performed the old one. Works like a charm.

Used to drain water off my pool cover. Should be done frequently, this machine does the job but is definitely not setting any pumping records.

Would have given this 5 stars if it kept working after one use.We used this to drain the last couple of inches from the bottom of our Intel above ground pool, and it worked beautifully, but the next time we used it to drain a couple of inches that pooled in a tarp, there was no more suction. We cleaned it, the motor runs ok but no suction...based on other reviews with similar issues, this product shouldn't cost more than $20 as a 1 time use item

Only had the pump for a month, but with all the rain we get on the west coast the pump seems to keep up when i need to clear the winter cover. Would def purchase this pump again.

We used this to get the last bit of water out of our above ground inter pool and it worked great!
