Q: Is bottom part plastic or glass ?

It's glass. I have two and both are nice thick glass. The lid to the grinder also acts as a lid to the jar.

Q: Please clarify, that up to 15 grams of whole beans can be ground each time. The glass hopper holds 60 grams of ground beans?

I just bought the grinder, it can if needed grind to 60 grams of coffee. I have grind 20 grams most at a time. Hope this helps you. So much easier than hand grinding!
