I was using a traditional flatbed scanner that was also my printer. A friend of mine asked why I was doing things so outdated, when these high-speed scanners were so affordable. I researched and finally ended up purchasing this unit. I liked it so much that I purchased an additional unit for another location, and even purchased one for my brother. The scanner has saved me so much time, because it's so fast and can scan multiple pages so quickly! I highly recommend. Oh, and each time I bought the 'remanufactured' units, and they arrived and basically looked and operated 'as new'.

Stupid easy to use. Setup took less then 5 minutes and most of that time was installing the software. Have already archived 10 years worth of documents. The double sided scanning is the key.

This is our family’s third Epson ES-580W scanner. They have been very durable and a great home office product! This latest Epson scanner was a renewed product and it was as good as new and at a large savings over new!It plugged right in and works perfectly. The scan quality and alignment is spot-on!

I use a Mac and Adobe Acrobat Pro - I needed a good two-sided scanner for scanning batches of documents into Adobe for my business. This was affordable, offering wireless network connectivity (also important), two-sided scanning, and a (theoretically) compatible TWAIN driver.- it lied to meFirst issue - setting up requires that you install their scanner software. Fine, but the problem is that the default Drivers and Utilities Combo Package installation doesn't actually work with Adobe - it only works with their own system to scan to a file that it saves in the documents folder - you have to drill down in their online software center to find two other driver installers, which aren't clearly identified as to what they offer for compatibility. I settled on the ICA scanner driver, which uses Apple's Image Capture utility instead. (none of the drivers descriptions state whether or not it offers TWAIN-compatible drivers)Second - the driver then conflicts with the settings within Adobe, when it asks if you need to capture front sides or both sides, and if you use the ICA utility in Apple, the settings there conflict with Adobe's own OCR system.Third problem - out of the box, the scanner adds hair and dust to my original that isn't present in the originals (the originals are clean, but there's dirt in the scans), and I can't clean it out! So much for testing and refurbishing. (see photo)Fourth problem - every other page is a negative image of the page; worse, some of the negatives just black out the entire page. So I have to re-work every page of the scan to get a functional copy and rescan the back sides. (see page thumbnails in photo)Of course, the support for the scanner itself is closed outside of very narrow business hours, and every hour I spend messing with this scanner is another hour of lost productivity.I'm giving them one more chance to see if I simply got the luck of the draw on bad refurbished products. I will update this review once the replacement scanner ships.

This is an absolute necessity for mobile notaries.The thumb drive document storage is a huge bonus. I scan directly to the thumb drive then plug it into the bottom of my phone and upload to the client all while still on-site.Has an on device setup for different scanning needs, i.e. Color, Black and White, and IDs.I also purchased the CleverMade SnapBasket 30 Can Cooler as a portable carrying case, which the scanner fits it like it was made for it.

My only complaint is when i tape a receipt to a sheet of paper (like auto repair order) - it will not scan it where my HP will (thou the HP is bulky and much slower). works real well to scan smaller receipts.

I have this document scanner synced with my synology box, which contains three hard drives. Any important documents I get I load into this device, scans the back in the front within seconds send it to my synology box and now I have a copy on my hard drive that I can bring up on my cell phone and look at it, never jams pulls the paper through perfectly smooth without twisting it. Very nice built machine. Very nice feature that you can put a memory stick in the back of it and scan all your documents directly to the memory stick without having to turn your computer on.

This scanner came highly recommended for notaries who do loan signings. When I have to scan 130 pages ASAP, this machine does the job in a matter of minutes. I love how small and portable it is, and the best feature is the wireless scanning. I can send documents to my laptop, phone, or tablet, which offers me an array of options for scanning on the go.
