Motorcraft FA1884 Air Filter

recently replaced the air filter in my Ford with the Motorcraft FA1884, and I’m very satisfied with the results. An exact fit for my ‘21 Explorer XLT. Pictured is the last filter my Ford dealer installed around 12k miles while I was leasing and had the included maintenance plan. Now that I bought out the lease and own the car, the maintenance is on me. I’m a female, and not afraid to get my fingernails dirty in exchange for saving money and not paying the dealer to do this for me. I’m impressed at the quality of this filter, and ease of replacing it. For the price, I will certainly be stocking up on these filters to have on hand.

Excellent OEM replacement filter. Identical to the Motorcraft filter it replaced. Stamped "Made in USA" which is a pleasant surprise. Good build quality. These filters are possibly made by the same company who makes Purolator, but to Ford's specs, however I cannot confirm that. No issues. This has a snug fit in the air intake housing.Some users have reported issues with the outer trim being too thick to fit, and I can see why. It takes a little finesse to install. When you place the filter in the housing, be sure to firmly press down on all four corners as well as along the sides to insure the filter is fully seated. Then line up the tabs on the housing perfectly (they shouldn't be off center). You should be able to slide the top housing along the filter as the tabs get inserted, this will take some effort to do. Once the housing tabs are fully inserted, you should be able to lock the clips on the other end. Gotta hold your tongue just right. I did not need to do further disassembly aside from opening up the air filter housing. This is speaking from my experience with a Ford Edge.There are lots of filter options available, but it's typically hard to go wrong with OEM.

Correct part for 2010 Ford Edge, part number matches what is in the owner's handbook and is a similar price to off brand products.

Solid, fair-priced replacement filter. Works, but did not fit perfectly on a 2010 Ford Edge. The rubber trim was much thicker than the one already in the car (I believe it was OEM), so I had to cut off just a bit to get the air box to clip closed. Not a big deal, but could be for someone who is hesitant to buy this and do it on their own. Bottom line, if I needed a 2010 Ford Edge air filter again, I'd just come here.

My ford explorer XLT 2013 needed a new engine air filter with part FA1884 and I ordered an off-brand one because it was cheaper. I regretted it. It did not fit, rubber was too tall so the two hooks wouldn't clasp and I couldn't return it because it got stained and greasy, extremely unfortunate. I decided to order this Ford Motorcraft OEM version and it was a great fit. Super easy to change in and out. The back hook took some elbow grease to clasp but it eventually closed. Now, I know to only buy OEM versions and don't cheap out or else I'll just waste more money!!!

I ordered a new air filter on Amazon and there were a number of choices. I chose this Motorcraft product since it is a Ford vehicle. Plus the price was competitive with other quality brands. I am happy with the results.
