You need these brushes along with really good saddle soap to keep all your leather shoes looking their best. I highly recommend, and I will be purchasing these Brushes again in the future.

These are excellent, easy to use horsehair brushes for applying wax or polish, or just buffing. I previously ordered a shoe care kit from Stone & Clark as well as several extra horsehair brushes for my husband to keep his small collection of RedWings in tip top shape. Of course, we have lots of other leather shoes that could use some TLC, too. I was very pleased with the quality so when I ran across these small dauber brushes, I ordered them right away. I chose the black brushes with white horsehair to use with clear wax and the ones I received are indeed wood, not plastic. The wood is solid and feels very smooth; the size and shape of the brushes makes them easy to hold and get in and around small areas. The horsehair is thick and very soft. I plan to order the other set with brown horsehair to use with colored polishes. The current price of $11.99 seems very reasonable.

These are r ushers designed for applying shoe cream onto the shoes before polishing them. The bristles are medium in stiffness. That would be fine for the softer shoe cream. It will also work with the firmer cream but a little less well. The body is made of hard and high quality plastic. Although not of wood, it won’t matter from a functional point of view.

I bought these to clean some leather shoes and one of the brushes crack at the top where the bristles are. It's only a matter of time before it falls apart.

These brushes are pure unadulterated garbage. Spend your money on something else.

I have been using this to clean my leather boots and shoes. It works really well with cleaning soap.

Slightly smaller than I expected, a few hairs came out during use - otherwise exactly what i was looking for.

Don’t bother purchasing these brushes! All the hairs fell out on the first use.

Very good horsehair dauber brushes. I use these on boots and sometimes on leather bags (applying Leather Honey or another conditioner). American-made, the brush heads are a little larger than the ones I tend to use on shoes, and they only just fit into a standard pot of shoe cream. Nonetheless they are good. The horsehair is soft enough and doesn't shed (after the first few uses). And they are sturdily made, all round.
