I wanted to replace old, worn out shin/knee guards. These guards with knee hinges are a hybrid worth having. There's some lateral knee support without paying the high price for "knee braces". I am thoroughly satisfied with this level of protection at an affordable price!

I don't like the restriction of knee braces, but these are more held in place and easier to control the bike than just pads, but without quite the restriction of braces, also they are priced cheaper. Good choice for the rider who wants braces but also doesn't.They fit a bit large, if in doubt I'd order the small.

Braces can be very expensive. Knee and shin pads only protect to a degree. This novel approach is an affordable, quasi-knee brace/guard and shin guard in one. It works, and I like the subtle lateral knee support that does not limit range of motion. My knees are still good, I'd like to keep them that way. The price for this hybrid design is reasonable and well worth it for the protection!
