Safe isn't bad. Haven't had a fire or water problem yet but I trust it'll perform fine. It weighs a ton which is good for deterring thieves but also makes it (in my case) impossible to ship without dropping. First go-round, purchased for $120, box looked pretty beat up and wasn't surprised to see a giant dent on the top edge, dial side. Ok, no problem, send it back for an exchange.Sorry, can only refund.Same seller, new price $150. Unfortunate, but aside from emailing Amazon's automated computers or trying to navigate their help line for hours I decided to buy it again. Shows up pretty quick, but the shipping box is just short of destroyed and sure enough, there were more dents this time. Oh, and it's a different, older model year. It is still functional, so I am probably keeping it this time, but not very happy with the experience.

I feel bad that I made my UPS man deliver this, but how nice is it to have a *safe* dropped off at your house as part of your Prime membership?It doesn't come with the floor installation bolts, because those have to be customized to your surface, but a trip to Home Depot isn't a tough thing. Securing the safe to the surface it sits on is pretty mandatory. While heavy, this isn't a wall safe, so it is possible for someone to carry it off.We like the new design with the deep-set door bolts, which increases security, and the handle seems very sturdy. The safe is large inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was even bigger than we expected.When unpackaging it, there may be gray powder all over the safe - don't worry, it's just dust from the concrete that lines the inside and makes it fireproof.Only other thing of note is that the combination lock doesn't work like the one on your old high school locker, so make sure you read the directions.. A few extra turns are required to open it, because they help keep your stuff more secure.

Too much plastic. The combination dial is plastic and the handle is plastic. A standard claw hammer and chisel will get you into the safe in short order. The top right rear corner of the safe had damage from being dropped during shipment. Too much trouble to try to ship it back. Will go ahead and use it for some type of storage, and consider it a lesson learned.It goes back to the old saying, "You get what you pay for"

Got it a couple of days ago. The packaging was pristine, not a mark on it, and the safe itself was in the same condition. Kudos to Amazon shipping, considering that it's pretty heavy. Cavernous space inside, very simple to use dial combination lock (no batteries!). Came complete with desiccant and instructions on how to keep it fresh. My guess is that the buyers who didn't follow these instructions ended up with mildew, which makes sense, given that the safe is water-proof and therefore isn't good at allowing air to exit it. Very happy with the purchase, especially for the amount I paid for it.

Seems pretty good, though I'll happily wait forever to test it in a fire (only papers will be stored in it). I gave it only 4 stars because: 1) it came with a dent on the case on one edge at the bottom (does not appear to affect function). The cardboard box it came in seemed undamaged, so it must have occurred prior to shipping. 2) The combination is fixed. While this may make it less expensive, it also makes it more inconvenient.
