Works well, especially the new features.

This was bought to replace a Fitbit Sense 1 which had broken. The Sense 1 was always a little finicky. Sometimes it wouldn't charge, sometimes it'd only charge halfway. The sense 1's footstep detector was wildly inaccurate. About the only thing it did well was the heartbeat thing, which was quite accurate. The Sense 2 fixes a lot of these issues, and makes for a faster, smoother experience. The Sense 1 would lag occasionally when swiping, but the Sense 2 doesn't. It's a better watch all round, I think. We both, originally, paid for the subscription, but it just didn't seem to give us anything worthwhile. Apps like Zombies Run! give you fun, cool things to do to get fit. Other apps give you recipes, or fitness ideas, or reminders etc... I just feel that the fitbit ecosystem has stagnated a little and they're just selling smartwatches/fitness trackers without evolving the experience. So, there's one thing that's the same with both, and it's still a disappointment, the app:The thing that annoyed me about the Sense 1 was that it constantly had a "disconnected from phone" icon on the screen, despite the phone sitting RIGHT THERE. What's the point of having a smart watch that can control the phone, if it only works if the app is loaded and showing on the phone's screen?I can count on one finger the number of times that I've had the Fitbit app loaded, and someone's tried to call me, and I've been able to answer it using the smart watch. The sense 2 does the same. Despite having the App on the phone, it still doesn't detect the phone unless the app is loaded. And sometimes you'll load the app, and it'll take ages for it sync with the watch, despite the watch being in the active bluetooth devices list.I know Bluetooth is a bit flakey, and not all devices are equal when it comes to supporting different profiles, but I would have thought the one thing the watch was supposed to do (exchange information with the app) would have been sorted. The watch was for my wife, and she's had no problems with it so far. She likes the features, but doesn't use much of the additional functionality. She occasionally loads the fitbit app to sync the data and see how she's been doing. but, if I'm honest, I think the App needs a major overhaul. She shouldn't have to take the watch off, and lie it next to the phone for ten minutes to sync for her to know how many steps she's taken, or for the most useful information to be buried under a dropdown, which is in a tab, under a graph, which is about four scrolls down. The app has most of what you need, but it could do with a little of a redesign I think... Perhaps find a way to let people configure their dashboard, both in the app, and on the notifications, or widgets on the home screen.

Fantastic watch

This is a fantastic watch, I wanted an upgrade. It’s perfect and I love the look of it. It charges so quickly and the battery life is extremely high, it connects to my I. Phone easily and I feel it’s great value for money

A huge step backwards

My wife has used fitbits almost since they came out and this was bought to replace a versa 4 which had been pretty reliable if a bit quirky at times. The Sense 2 comes supposedly with a huge range of features but basically the software is full of bugs/problems when connected to IOS that render them unusable. The ECG app doesn’t sync if you can get it working so you can’t see your data in the Fitbit app. Google this as a problem and you get reams of issues.Try and uninstall an app and it’s completely random whether this works or not.Having been in technology all my career and delivered apps across many platforms I feel confident in tackling most issues. But Fitbit has gone backwards since its acquisition by Google evidenced by the pages and pages of issues and lack of consistent resolution of problems on the various official and unofficial forums. You can play around with permissions. Factory resetting, pairing unpairing all you want you and it might work and then again it might not!Don’t waste your time calling Fitbit support. If they actually understand English They basically are turn it off and back on again team who revert to the usual mantra of1) factory reset2) turnoff Bluetooth/ pair/unpair etc etc3) send photograph of error4) never seen this before (perhaps you should read your own support forums and you will know this is not trueIt’s a real shame because this could be great tech with good battery life and well priced against the competition but it basically doesn’t work reliably.Needless to say returned to Amazon and thinking again which unfortunately means maybe paying a lot more for something like an Apple Watch.Avoid at all cost or repent at leisure

Tracks steps and heart well, not so good at tracking sleep.

The watchstrap is rubbish for such an expensive watch.A bit reluctant to work with an Apple phone

Prefer my old Versa 2

I bought the Sense 2 to replace my old Versa 2 which had stopped holding battery charge after 3 years of faithful service and constant use. The stress notifications are the reason I went for the Sense 2 as reducing stress is a focus for me at the moment. However, that is the only way in which the Sense 2 is better than my Versa 2. The Sense 2 is buggy, initially it wouldn't reliably sync with my phone unless I restarted my phone, this problem seemed to disappear after a few days but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes an issue again. The menus on the device and complicated and not easy to navigate. The alarm goes off in the morning and won't stop until you've pressed the dismiss button several times, and then the alarm often goes off again after a few minutes, even if you're up and about. When you get a stress notification or want to log how you're feeling, you get 6 basic emotions to choose from, and the range of human emotion is a tad more complicated than that. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and I really miss my Versa 2. If I hadn't had a smart watch before, I'd still be impressed but knowing that there are far better watches, this feels like a downgrade.
