Couldn’t recommend enough
I bought this book 4.5 years ago now and have waited until now to do a review. I bought this as my grandma had one to help her remember past events etc. I bought mine when I was 15 and I am about to turn 20 and I can honestly say I have really enjoyed documenting what I do every day, and looking back on what I have done days previously. I will definitely buy another at the end of this one as I have found it highly therapeutic to add my writing into my routine, and as it is only 5 lines it is not as big of a commitment as a normal diary, I really have to think hard as to what has been important to me that day to write down. This is such a lovely idea for anyone who has poor memory, wants to set personal goals in their life, is nostalgic or just likes to have structure / routine to their days. This book has become as much of my daily routine as cleaning my teeth and I have found it therapeutic over the years to write a short sentence or 2 before bed summarizing my day whether that be important events, thoughts for the day or just mundane everyday happenings. Now I have nearly finished it is amazing to see how much my life has changed over 5 years and this book is great for anyone who is trying to incorporate some mindfulness into their lives but only wants to spend 2 minutes a day on that. I really treasure this book for all the memories I have in it, my one is quite tattered now but it has travelled round the world with me to France, America, the Swiss Alps and various other trips I’ve gone on. It is a perfect size for easy storage and to take travelling. I have also stapled keepsakes and other bits and pieces along the way into the book such as tickets, badges, receipts, photos etc and this has bulked out this tiny diary massively but it’s still going strong nearly 5 years later. The quality of this diary is outstanding, the gold edging on mine is still intact and whilst the front lettering is a little worn I am not surprised as it has been everywhere with me. I have never felt like there isn’t enough space to summarize what I want to that day and the layout is perfect for making it super easy to see what you did last year, 2,3,4 years ago etc. I like having a handwritten memory book alongside digital memories that pop up on my phone. I have used mine everyday and could not recommend this product enough to anyone who’ll listen.

Lovely way to log and remember memories in the digital age
This is a really nice keepsake. I bought this as a gift for my wife and she loves it.In an age where everything we do is digital and online I think it's important to write things down by hand. It's also something you can keep with you and pass down to children when they're older. The idea is a line or a few lines in your diary. That could be your child's first words, that they took their first step, that you travelled somewhere or experienced something new. Then, long after you've forgotten you can go back through your book and recall those happy memories. This could easily be one of those things that you start and never complete, or actually do complete but never touch again. But, the way this is laid out means that if you do write in it regularly you'll get back to the same dates once a year. So in the second year, you'll write your line or two down and will read whatever you've written down from the previous year. At the end of the book, as you complete year five you'll be able to look at the four previous years each time you write something down on that day. Great idea, nicely laid out and really well made.It is quite small and I would like to see a larger version available but it's definitely something I would love to receive and something you can keep your cherished memories in and look back on for years to come.

Addictive
Bought 5 years ago as a gift for husband who had never kept a diary. He is just coming to the end of the last one of these and has loved writing in it every night. As the years have passed he has amused us by reading what we were up to on this day say 3 years ago.He is very interested in politics so often writes whats going on, so in the last few years its been interesting. This is an ideal gift for anyone to record just a few lines each day. There is no pressure to write loads as there are only 5 lines to fill, and so it feels easier to use it for a specific record.eg diet or exercise or baby records how you feel etc

Lovely idea
Really like this little diary. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it feels well made: a nice simple cover, gold-edged pages, and thick enough paper. Also, my boyfriend and i got this to write together...so the requirement for it not to be too feminine was there too. We sit down together most evenings (unless we're busy, but even then the "short & sweet" nature of the entries mean it doesn't take too long to catch up!) to write it. It can sometimes be challenging if we've had a particularly busy day, which i guess is my one issue with it. It does however have a section at the back (i think about 5ish pages worth, but don't hold me to that!) of "Memorable dates" which you can use to expand upon particularly important events...but given it's a 5-year diary it's not much leeway! In the same breath though, the short entries really make you think about what the most important things are that you want to remember, rather than just rambling on. If you're looking for freedom to write descriptive accounts of your daily activities then this probably isn't for you. I'll end on a positive though-i love the way the diary's set out, in that the same day every year is on the same page, meaning that when we eventually get to over one year of entries it'll be easy to scan up the page and reminisce about what we were doing that time during the previous year.

3 years in
Excellent quality book, almost 3 years completed and the book is very much still in perfect condition. No pen has run and I've used a different one every year and such a lovely memory to have. Going to buy a couple more to keep specific for each of my children. Perfect for anyone who wants to track small moments and memories.

A5 year replacement and still the same.
Bought to replace one my wife had 5 years ago. She was delighted as it’s still exactly the same as her old one. It’s well made compact and good quality
