WOODRIVER180-Grit CBN Grinding Wheel, 6" x 3/4" for Grinders with a 1/2" Arbor

Very decent and extremely sharp wheel. The picture suggests that the wheel looks the same on both sides. Unfortunately the “other” side is hollow and you don’t have the same side edge. I am going to try it but I don’t like this kind of sales tactics.

I like the grinding wheel alot but thought is was too expensive.

I made a mistake in buying this wheel. I was misled by other reviews into regarding this as a 180/300 grit wheel, having used it I now think its more like 80/120 grit. I think a 300 or even a 600 grit would do for my needs. The 600 would take a little longer but would definitely get the job done without the constant risk of chewing up my blade edges. I am still hoping to "dull" the wheel slightly with use so as to make it just a little less aggressive.That said, the material removal rate of this wheel is truly impressive, and a grinding jig that holds blades at a fixed angle would make a world of difference to my work, the problem is the good ones are too rich for my blood. I will have to build a holding fixture to clamp knives at the correct angle.

I can't comment yet on durability, but from my limited use it still looks brand new so that is a good sign. It moves material quickly and runs cooler than standard grinding wheels. It grinds high speed steel, and hardened tool steels easily. Remember the CBN is applied to the wheel in a plating matrix. Use low pressure and let the CBN do the cutting to avoid damaging your wheel.

Excellent product. Runs true with no wobble. I just received this item and have used it several times already to sharpen my lathe gouges. One or two passes and it puts a sharp edge on the them. Would highly recommend this product.

Will never buy any other type of wheels.. perfect product for woodturning tools, especially for gouges

An outstanding grinding wheel. Worth every cent. I seldom use any other grinder.
