1L DARK BLUE RENOVO CONVERTIBLE CAR SOFT TOP/HOOD COLOUR REVIVER/RESTORER CHEX

The soft top on my BMW 330 CI very is nearly 10 years old. Although in relatively good condition I thought I would give it the full treatment from cleaning to proofing with a colour 'pick me up' in the middle. I searched the Internet and various forums to see which products stood out. To be honest there were only 2 that caught my attention. Renovo and AG. AG did not have a colouring option so I went with Renovo as I do believe if you use the same manufacturer for each stage they are more likely to work with and have been tested together.I watched the video for Renovo a few times (it needs updating but the products are more or less the same as are the application principles).All the work was completed outside and not in a garage, so I had to pick my days wisely with a constant eye on the weather forecast. Each stage takes a good few hours to dry in warm weather. Not such a concern with the cleaner but for the dye and the proofer very important!Anyhow, cleaned the roof with Renovo cleaner, let that dry, the next day I followed the instructions on the rejuvenator to the letter.If there is one tip I would give it's mask off all around the edges of the roof where it is attached and also the rear window. I was careful and this stuff did splash around leaving tiny spots of blue dye on the windows and paint work. It wipes off easily but try not to let it dry where it should not be, it does come off but takes a little more work (my car is waxed so this may have helped removal so might be an idea to clean and wax your car first, sorry). I used normal 2 inch masking tapeI used a 2" paint brush and I would say only just about half the 1litre bottle, better to have to much than run out!As I said earlier my hood was in quite good condition before but after the one coat it looked great. I was initially concerned that I had not washed off the cleaner properly because when I started applying the dye with the paint brush it ever so slightly started to foam. I think thats just what happens though so don't worry. I applied the dye as quickly and liberally as I could. I divided up (in my head) the roof into six sections running front to back,swapping sides after each section. This meant I did not have an edge drying out that was going to have more dye joining it. This method worked well for me, as it's quite a large top. It took me about 30 minutes with all my dancing around and making sure I did not miss areas.One coat was good enough for me as I was weather dependant and wanted to get though all the stages, outside and in a few days. 2 coats may have given an even better results but one coat for me was great anyway.The Renovo rejuvenator worked really for me. I had the dark blue dye.I would definitely recommend this product but if I had the time I would have given it 2 coats.Next on to the proofer!!!Hope this review helps!

Delivered promptly, this product is fantastic! After being quoted over £600 for a new hood, it has brought the thirty year old boat canopy up to "as new" standards with a good covering rate, on what was faded white material,to a deep navy blue with only two coats. With the "Ultra Proofer" from the same company I now have a very respectable finished article for less than £40 ! Thank You.

Just a little different in shade from the hood colour as it was delivered. I bought the large size proofer because I really didn't want to run out part the way through and I am ready for another coat before winter. The result is really good. After a lot of heavy rain, the fabric gets wet but it dries and water beads up the next time.

Great product. Easy to apply and made my mini roof look 100% better, covered all the faded lines and gave it back its lovely blue colour.

excellent product....use a 4" brush and save yourself alot of time and effort! 2 coats will make a real difference but it really does transform an old dull fabric roof. used it on my saab and now bought it again for a boxster I just purchased.

used this on a very unloved soft top and it looks like new would recommend this to anyone, took 2 coats but really pleased with it. i also used there cleaner and water proof to make my soft top great.

This product is very easy to use. Gave my hood a new lease of life.
