Love it
I absolutely love this book read it cover to cover, with a family of dairy intolerance who still enjoy meat, fish and eggs it’s perfect. I did have to do a few google searches for some ingredients due to American differences, I also did a whole foods order for some of the ingredients but well worth it especially if your looking to feed your family a natural, healthy but tasty diet.

Fabulous family recipes
I love this book! I have made five or six evening meals for the family using this book and they have all been approved by the family - especially the chickpea chips and the green beans with dill dip. Excellent family recipes that are a bit different, tasty and healthy. I really hope there is a True Roots 2!

Great recipes
I really like this book...I've made quite a few recipes and have to say, each one has been really tasty. The dressing for the carrot and leek lentils is absolutely amazing, the taste was just beautiful. It sounds so silly to describe it this way but it was sooo nice! I've made the almond butter blondies just last night and they are really nice and the kids loved them too (sneaky veg input!). Just a little expensive as using almond butter but if you are looking to change your lifestyle, buying in bulk and making your own will certainly be cheaper. I see this book as a helping hand in changing your diet to healthier and happier (and I don't use diet in the sense of slimming clubs, just a way of eating).

Family friendly and delicious
Tried a few recipes from this book and they have all been realitively straight forward and easy to make, not to mention tasty. I like that there are also child friendly recipes, my family love the zucchini almond butter blondies.

Not suitable for dietary restrictions.
Bought this as my daughter has been advised to go dairy free, gluten free and sugar free for at least a month to try to help her chronic migraines. The cover describes the book as "A mindful kitchen with more than 100 recipes free of gluten, dairy and refined sugar". On receiving the book I was disappointed to see that she uses manchego cheese, sheep's milk yoghurt and loads of honey and maple syrup, not to mention that there are lots of recipes involving oats and oat flour which may or may not be gluten free. It doesn't tell you to get from a certified gluten free source. This book is not really suitable for those with actual dietary restrictions, more for those who want a cleaner way of living. I don't disagree that the recipes sound quite nice but it worries me that I bought it specifically to help me cater for someone with dietary restrictions and I feel that the description is misleading.

cooking up a storm
love, love, love this cookbook. I was looking to change to a G free diet after being dairy free for a couple of years. I was having issues with my gut and was working on reducing certain things like gluten in my day to day foods. This was a great way to do it. The recipes are easy and fun and if you pick up a few of the essentials listed to keep in your pantry you'll find it easier to make recipes on a whim. Can't wait until her next book!

Very impressed and happy I bought
I am very glad I purchased! I was a little on the fence with the reviews but I’ve been bored with the same recipes and wanted something different and a little healthier.**tske the reviews with a grain of salt... let them give you skittle insight but make your own opinion. Yes there are pictures of food and Kristin, but honestly they don’t overwhelm the cookbook and they have the same amount as any other cookbook I have.I really like her descriptions on each recipe and you really feel like she’s saying them. I didn’t want to goncraxy with buying all ingredients so I chose three recipes to do and try them out and see how they were. Her recipes are simple and not a lot of ingredients.I also liked how there’s a variety of everything in the book from breakfast ,snacks ,drinks and main meals.I got the cookbook in the mail yesterday and made two of them today.First, I made the avocado chicken salad and I have to say it’s it was simple and delicious!! I ends up using her advice on easier and bought a rotisserie chicken.Second, I made the zucchini almond butter bloodies and Brought them to a cookout and figured my friends would be honest on a new recipe. They came out so delicious and were a hit! They were asking about the recipe and where I go it from. I am a sweet eater and for a healthy recipe i didn’t feel I was missing out and you really couldn’t taste the zucchini but they were super moist.Next I’m trying out the acorn squash for breakfast.I am really glad I went with my gut to buy theirs book. I’ve been a fan since Laguna Beach and your always hesitant with celebrity cookbooks as if there really good or just wanna sell something.. Kristin definitely is an amazing cook and has some amazing recipes.Ps I also can’t wait to try and make my own almond milk.

Wonderful gluten free recipes
Absolutely could not stop making almost all of the recipes from this book. This is one of the first gluten free recipe books I bought since diagnosed with celiac and no longer able to eat gluten. Before purchasing both of Kristin Cavallari’s cookbooks that were out at that time. (She now has another cookbook that just came out this month) All I can say is every single recipe tasted wonderfully. Was a relief as I had undergone testing all sorts of gluten free breads that was very disappointing (whom doesn’t love bread) Highly recommended, will be purchasing her new book shortly!
