we purchased this for my daughter who is playing the role of a party girl in the Nutcracker. We are so excited to give it to her. It is so cute.

This is a lovely nutcracker. I have a collection of nutcrackers and this is certainly the "fanciest" looking one in the bunch. The antique gold color is beautiful. I love that it's not a yellow gold which might appear cheap and gaudy. The details in the jacket, hat and spear are nice. It sparkles with lots of glitter. The glitter, however, is one detail which could have used a more careful hand. It is not as precise as I'd like in certain areas. The hat brim, for example, is not supposed to have glitter on it but it does. It doesn't look bad but and probably most people wouldn't notice it, but up close it is a little sloppy. The boots also have an uneven coating of glitter where the toes do not have quite as much as the shafts. Again, probably most people wouldn't notice this and overall I think he's a lovely nutcracker. But if you are nitpicky on details, maybe skip this guy.

This is a classic looking nutcracker that is a great addition to any holiday display. It looks good and came well packaged. It definitely would not hold up to real nutcracking use though. It is built to look at, not touch. It is pretty fragile so will just have to be careful with it.
