Hard and heavy...but they do work.
Very hard and heavy. The tightening screw is very hard to turn.

Love to use this when gifting project
These are great to send your cross stitch to friends/family.My only complaint is that it's a real pain to get it the top hoop over the fabric. BUT it does keep the everything taunt and perfect once you do get it on.
