Comfortable and Useful, But Be Careful on Smooth Floors
This Gaiam Essentials yoga mat is very comfortable thanks to its thickness—it’s great for protecting your knees and back. Since I spend many hours sitting, I use it to stretch and do relaxation exercises, and it really helps with tension in my legs and back.It comes with a strap, which makes it easy to store and carry, and the size is great even if you’re tall.Just be aware that it can get slightly slippery on smooth floors, especially if you sweat. For that reason, I recommend not leaving it laid out all the time on slick surfaces, as it might shift a little during use.Overall, I really like it and use it daily. Good quality for the price.

Excellent quality. Affordable option.
Product is well made, and just the right thickness. May want to use a towel on top if you sweat a lot, but perfect for stretching and very comfortable on knees and elbows.

Great Product
This thick yoga and fitness mat provides excellent cushioning and support during workouts. Whether you’re practicing yoga, pilates, or doing floor exercises, it offers great protection without sacrificing stability. The durable material features a non-slip surface that keeps me secure even during sweaty sessions. Plus, it’s lightweight and easy to roll up for transport. Perfect for anyone seeking comfort and quality in their workout gear!

Great quality and color, but stinky until it airs out
Very nice. I like the color and it's wide and thick enough to be very comfortable for exercising. 4 stars because it does smell bad at first and the smell takes a couple weeks to finally disipate enough to not bother me.

Thick, durable, doesn’t smell like plastic
If you are someone who is tall, this is a good yoga mat because it is longer than many you’ll find out there. I appreciate the thickness of the material as well, even though it doesn’t look like a triple decker thick yoga mat, it is! I have owned this and used daily for my morning yoga and weight work for about two months now. I’m about 175 pounds and haven’t encountered any discomfort where I felt like my knees or elbows are pressing in the ground. Especially in the knees, that cushion is so uncomfortable if it isn’t thick enough. Don’t worry, with this one, it won’t be an issue. It is grippy to the floor and the ridges nicely catch your feet when in difficult poses. I am also glad it didn't come with that gross rubbery/plastic smell. It folds up nicely and has a little carrying strap if needed.10/10!

Great for Dedicated Yogis (Unlike Me)
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Let’s be real....I bought this mat with big wellness energy, only to confirm that I’m more of a "lie on the floor and scroll" kind of person. But my actually disciplined friends swear by it, so here’s the honest scoop. Why It’s Great (For People Who Try): Thick & cushy – At 10mm, it’s comfy for knees and joints (tested during my 3-day yoga phase) Non-slip grip – Friends say it stays put during intense flows (I wouldn’t know) Easy to carry – The strap makes it portable… if you ever leave the house Purple looks nice – At least it’s pretty rolled up in my closet Why I’m Not Using It:My "wellness routine" consists of walking to the fridge 2/5 inch thickness is wasted on my napping habits Final Thoughts:If you’re actually into yoga, fitness, or even just consistent stretching, this mat is a solid pick. But if you’re like me? Maybe just borrow a friend’s first. Best for: People with discipline. Worst for: Professional couch potatoes like myself. 😅

Enough Cushion for a GenX doing Yoga
It is a great mat. It has velcro handles, a little awkward to put on, but does the job to carry it if you want. The mat itself is super cushy so that the GenX-er can do yoga without cramping up on the hard floor (IKYK). I would recommend a yoga mat towel if you do HOT yoga because yoga mats become slip and slides during practice. Regular yoga this would work just fine. The color is pretty and I would recommend this mat.

Great Beginner Mat
The value for the money here is a no brainer. I got this as a starter mat, because I wasn’t sure how much I would keep up with yoga, and it has served me really well. Since purchasing, I have fallen in love with yoga, and practice enough at this point to invest in a thinner, more expensive mat. This mat provided the literal foundation for my practice, and provided great support as I learned. The strap it comes with feels flimsy, but it managed several long walks to the studio without ever coming undone or slipping. If you’re doing hot yoga, I highly recommend a towel (this mat doesn’t do great with excess sweat), but otherwise this mat is great for beginners, or someone needing a bit more joint support than typical mats provide.
