and they'd be a nightmare for tech/flatland skating because they bounce like superballs and won't slide at lower speeds
I needed a casual all-terrain wheel for my "around the neighborhood" board and I was attracted to these primarily because of the price. At first they were fine--fast and smooth over rough surfaces, as you'd expect from 78s. But then, after maybe only ten or so sessions (I especially used this setup for running the dog, doing deep carves) I noticed the wheels were reverse-coning, something I had never seen before. The inside edges were getting seriously worn down. Clear urethanes have less abrasion-resistance than opaque formulas, and these seem to be an extreme example of that problem. This is not a wheel for any kind of serious skating, whether in a longboard or shortboard context. They're simply too soft for riding parks, and they'd be a nightmare for tech/flatland skating because they bounce like superballs and won't slide at lower speeds. And they'd last about two hours in a serious longboard applicaton before they were worn down to the cores. This is a light-duty wheel with a "toy" level of durabilty.

These are the TRANSPARENT and softer version of the Route 58
TRANSPARENT!You can't tell from the picture but these are transparent (google for pics and you'll see). You can clearly see the internal hub (which contributes to a faster ride).Although Amazon clerks can't spell, Kryptonics are great wheels - always have been - and these are smooth as silk and fast.Exact same shape as the Route 58 (which are NOT transparent), and these have more bump absorption (78A versus 83A for the Route). If you ride on all kinds of surfaces, including rough pavement, these are great. If you live where the roads aren't messed up and nice and smooth, the Route 58 may be a better choice for you.Tried these on ramps in the skatepark last night, and they are great for that too.Above-average size means they go over little stones better, yet small enough for lightweight when doing tricks and skatepark. The Cruise 58 and the Route 58 are perfect all-around wheels. For longboarding, they also make them in larger sizes, like 65mm, and I think, maybe even 70mm, which would be more appropriate for a longboard than these.
