Yes, the sheath is plastic. However this dagger looks amazing and is high quality steel. The only downside is it’s slightly difficult to open and close due to its odd size. But a great movie prop to hang on a bedroom or office wall.

The blade itself is nice, and it's sized to feel like a very large dagger or really small shortsword. The metal is well crafted (for the price), the handle is plastic and ok (had some imperfections, but it's cheap), but the sheathe is absolutely terrible. The mold must be off, because to start it already had two large gaps between halves on the SHARP SIDE of the sheathe. While it'd be pretty difficult to actually injure yourself sheathing this sword, it's certainly possible, and every time I did so I was fearful the plastic sheathe would break and send the sharp blade plunging into my hand. The material used to keep the sword tight in the sheathe (foam-like at the mouth) also makes this horrible high-pitched noise every time you draw or sheathe it, which gets old really fast.Overall, if you can do something about the sheathe, it's a pretty nice sword for the money.

Lets get this out of the way, if you reading this you see all these conflicting reviews. This is not a knife made to go slashing around with. It's a replica prop. IF you properly sharpen and care for it you could indeed go cut things up with it. At the time of this review, as someone that lives in the midwest US, this cost me 19.98$ for first time buyers and those of you buying presents this is extremely cheap in the world of bladed weapon replicas. Something like this made by hand would cost upwards of 100$. That said, here the sheath is made of plastic, with metal caps on each end. Mine came in the mail feeling fragile, and clearly wasn't holding together very well. The end cap of the sheath popped right off. But this isn't a dealbreaker. All I did was take a old sock, and some heavy duty bonding superglue and pressed it all back together. It even has plastic pegs on the inside to keep it aligned. And then generously used weldbond to attach the end piece back on, and wiped away anything that leaked out. This was extreme overkill, and while it is still a light plastic sheath it now feels perfectly sturdy, and you can't even tell I intentionally tore it apart and reglued it. Which might I add was very easy. You don't have to be a tinkerer to get it done. Now to the blade itself, some people mentioned they got a blade that wiggles, in that case you could also glue it in, or just return it and order another, with two day shipping that's a breeze these days. The handle is solid plastic, with metal cap decorations like the hilt. It isn't hollow or anything, and feels perfectly sturdy. Like any affordable kitchen knife handle these days. Overall, for 20$ and ten minutes of my time this turned out to be a wonderful purchase, and I would hastily recommend that for such a good price that you should get one too. I'll likely get another for a gift myself.

I am really happy with this dagger. It has good weight to it. The blade is nice. The sheathe and handle are a hard plastic and not leather but that is fine. The price is awesome. It complements my Aragorn costume quite nicely.

The sheath is made of two halves of very cheap looking plastic glued into two metal end pieces. The seams where the two halves meet are not glued or fused in any way and it gives at the seams. The handle is not comfortable as the metal end cap and piece just before the hand guard dig into your hand a little, and the circumference is on the small side. The sharp side of the blade rubs against the metal part of the sheath as it is removed and inserted causing instant dulling of the blade. Even after you practice and learn the movement of the curved blade, the movement is not smooth and unless you are very careful and intentional blade damage is still possible. I plan on using a dremel tool to grind out a small part of the opening in the sheath so it is wider and hopefully eliminates the damage to the blade as it is moved in and out of the sheath. I also plan on applying leather to both the sheath and the handle to make it appear less cheap and to improve the grip and feel in the hand. From a generous distance, this dagger looks dope, but the closer you get you can see it is low quality.

Incredible knife! Great reproduction for the money! Also, great deal because it has a decent enough edge to even use it as a camping knife! Fantastic weight and balance to it! Very solid with no play (rattle) between knife blade and scabbard, nor is the blade loose in the hilt! The pieces that appear to be metal in the picture are metal. The blade is sharpened Chinese steel and the end-caps on the hilt and scabbard are also metal. One of the best daggers I own and my new favourite! Love this "Elven Dagger"! I'm going to get them as gifts for my best friends and my brothers!

Pros: Sturdy blade made with solid steel with No scratches or chips. Material for handle has a pattern which boosts gripping capabilities. No Made in China stampCONS: Blade is not sharp, slot in sheath not long enough to smoothly draw and sheath blade, sheath is made out of a flimsy plastic material that needed to be glued so the 2 halves would not fall apart.I bought one on eBay that was better quality from China. It’s still a good blade for Cosplay, Ren Faire, or just display.

Came in before expected delivery time. The blade itself is made out of stainless steel like it states. Has a relatively decent edge on it right out of the box but can definitely be sharpened to paper cutting and hair shaving sharpness. The sheathe it comes in is made out of a very hard plastic same with the handle. No rattle from the blade in the handle very sturdy material one of my favorite knives ever and it's a cheaper version of Aragorn's elven knife if you just wanted a standard base model definitely might buy another one soon!
