It works!
I recently got back into LP’s and have been building a collection from the 70’s and 80’s for my entry level audiophile kit.Whilst I could enjoy many of the records, the noise was often distracting. As an example, I have a 1981 Elkie Brookes and a 1971 Peter, Paul and Mary. I filled the reservoir with deionised water, ran them through without the brushes a few times and then followed the instructions with the brushes and water still in the reservoir, and, hey presto. Elkie played with almost no noise at all, but PPM needed a second bath, and I would say an overall improvement of 80% noise reduction. There is the odd crackle, but the records are a pleasure to listen to, with a far superior sound to my cd’s or streaming.NB: It is a faff, but it is affordable. Keep your hands to the side to stop the rollers popping out and get some full-size lint free clothes if you plan on doing more than one at a time.Follow up: I bought two records of EBay, supposedly mint, and they were terrible. The cleaner didn’t bring them back to mint, but now they are enjoyable.

Cheap plastic but works
The weak link are the rollers that support the record which have a soft rubber centre so the record grips but these deform and need frequent refitting. The cleaner does seem to work and is water tight so you can fill the whole thing up with a dedicated cleaning fluid rather than just wetting the velvet wipers although this isn't the recommended method. Did make a noticeable improvement on some quite pop and clicky LPs.

Really good product.
Been looking a various record cleaners over the last few weeks and landed on this one purely based on the issues with the Disco Antistat cleaning solution. It works really well as you can see from the photos, had no problem getting rid of the fingerprints on the record, and left it looking brand new. The excess solution is easily wiped off with the supplied cloths, any that is left behind just evaporated off. Another advantage of this product is the label on the record will not get wet due to the small amount of liquid used. The record went from unplayable to sounding like new.The product itself seems really well built, simple to set up and use. The advice I would give when applying the cleaning solution to the pads is have one of them sticking out of the top of the cleaner, apply the solution to that pad as you slowly push it into the housing, this will allow an even distribution of the solution.

Works effectively
Works as it should but still relies on physical effort. Effective when discs are not too dirty but most of mine required several passes or additional cleaning away from the machine.Fairly basic construction, could do with some means to rotate the discs maybe a handle?

Brilliant does what it says, well worth the money
This cleaner arrived today and already been put to good use. I have some second hand records bought from a record fayre and although i have cleaned them i used this cleaner. Firstly after reading other reviews and knowing about this type of product i know that it is best to fill the reservoir up to the top with demineralized water. (I use the water from my dehumidifier) This allows the record to get saturated loosening the dirt trapped in the grooves. After all it is hard to brush dried on dirt off any material. I rotated the record more than three times each way and left to soak and repeated. This cleaned the record more than sufficiently. Wiping the record with a micro fibre cloth (supplied) works well also, however at this point i have another trick i use a Karcher window vacuum to suck up the excess water and dirt. The blades of these type of vacuums are very soft rubber squeegee type. I keep an new blade just for record cleaning. I played records again and 99% of background noise has disappeared. I would recommend this product especially at the price on Amazon.

It is better to clean by hand <---- [ This is the review you are looking for ]
Buy a hand cleaning kit instead.Pushing the record between the brushes is too tight and will damage the record.the force needed to rotate the record is too much.A hand cleaning kit is much cheaper, will clean the record more gently and is easier.I don't want to be mean to 'Retro Musique' but this cleaner is clonsiderably less convienient, will damage records and is more expensive.

Tricky to use, unclear efficacy
I don't know how well this works. The records look shinier but the brushes, being black, show no dirt removed. The 'brushes' are velvet and leave the records with static so they immediately gather dust. The cleaning fluid is difficult to use as it sits on the velvet brushes and falls off into the box. Turning the records manually is difficult and slow. The rollers sometimes lift out in the process. There are inadequate instructions e.g. the brushes should be 'cleaned ' before storage but there is no indication how. I have rinsed them in tap water but probably distilled water would be better. Who knows?
