MUST HAVE
Easy reading. Language and history of the Roman world.More clear and brief and simple than any skool book.Keep dipping in. Little by little.Grab a good Amazon copy and leave it around the house.More economical and better than take out junk food. Lasts fifty times longer too!

After Greek, Latin!
This book is going the same way the Greek did for me a few years ago. I have only just started, but it feels just as I felt when I went through the Peter Jones' other language teaching. I am sure that it will put me on the path of reaching a long-time wish of self-improvement in a 'classic' education. I revel in it!

Needs more explanation
Mr. Jones does give a lively introduction to Latin; but after going through the entire book and participating in all of the excercises I felt that there needed to be more shared focus on nouns and inflections. This book is great for learning the verbs and tenses and does take some of the "difficult" out of Latin. If Wheelock's tries to cram too much into one unit (I did not make it all of the way through Wheelock's) Mr. Jones does stick to a more simple and streamlined approach. I wish he could write a similar book for noun inflections!

Great for self-teaching.
This is a good book for adults trying their self-teaching skills at learning Latin. Good explanations of grammar and history. Not a good book for school settings or younger students, particularly in a group setting, due to its historical and illustrated content.
