Awesome knife!Very sharp on both sides of the blade and the serrated parts on both sides of the blade, too!Serrated blades are a bonus!Perfect size to hang from off my belt and stick in my back pocket!The sheath that comes with the knife will come off your belt if you just pull the knife out; great retention at the cost of just pulling the knife out…I’ve learned to just push against the sheath with my thumb to release the knife; I’m not worried about the knife falling out and the clip holds well enough that I’m not worried about loosing the knife and the sheath as I ride my m’cycle or driving.You are not gonna use a leather sheath with this very sharp knife!Just use my thumb push method!Confession time!I did reconfigure the clip so that it’s got a better grip at the belt…needle nose pliers with a little twist so that the clip touches the sheath!

We can clearly see where this dagger took its design from . It’s no where near a Mark 2 but a great dagger for the price. These newer ones come with a nice kydex style sheath that has positive retention. Fairly sharp but remember, this is a dagger . They are made for certain situations, great for self defense / personal protection . This type of knife was originally designed for our troops in the jungles of SE Asia / Vietnam. That should be self explanatory, this isn’t your camping knife . Never forget our POW / MIA . Great knife and price.

Excellent for a 30 self defense knife. Although if you grab the blade and wiggle it it bends a tiny bit. Fair price for 30$ including a sheath for it.

I love this Schrade knife. I have a Gerber Guardian 2 but the mild steel has the nasty tendency to rust, does not keep an edge and is pretty heavy. This Schrade knife has a great strength to weight because you don't need to haul extra weight with all your other gear. (This is why I prefer a Glock over a Sig.) The 440 Stainless Steel is pretty fool proof. You get a lot for a low price and low weight.The Schrade knife feels like a scalpel and that is just how you use it for knife fighting. For wet work, you need a long blade to punch under the rib cage to reach the lower ventricles of the heart or to cut the clavicle artery. Attacking from the rear with the Schrade knife allows accessibility to the kidney or medulla oblongata. Obviously, don't use this weapon unless it is justifiable self defense where you are NOT the aggressor.Be very careful about the laws in your jurisdiction regarding this type of blade. In my jurisdiction, you can own the knife but you are not allowed to carry it on your person. In the event of society breaking down (more) and the end of the rule of law then this knife will come in handy. I plan to keep my bayonet affixed to my rifle and this Schrade knife as my back up.You are going to need to add some rifle wrap to the handle to get a better grip, but I add that to all my firearms anyway. You will also want to add some paracord to the handle to prevent loss of the weapon in a fight where your tendons may get cut. The sheath that comes with the knife is not that too bad and is just a simple leather sheath.NOTE:The Spec.-Ops. Brand Combat Master Knife Sheath 8- Inch Blade (Long) does NOT fit with this knife because there is a screw at the bottom of the sheath that prevents insertion. This is my third Schrade and possibly my last. Quality control is just largely absent it seems from every Schrade I own. I ran my finger along the edges of the blade and felt either micro fractures or micro dents. Thankfully, Schrade uses steel more on the brittle side, so it's still a super sharp blade when slashing and stabbing from my test on paper, bubble packaging, and cardboard, but I'm still left concerned about the quality of the AUS-8 steel itself. Maybe a better sharpening can fix the edges? The belt clip wiggles a bit on the sheath, but it needs better retention even if it was fully tightened. The sheath itself makes popping sounds when you twist it in your hands, so I have little faith in how it performs if you fall on it outdoors. The knife retention is incredible, but I need the belt clip to retain more than the knife, so that's a loss for me. If you plan to fix the sheath to a bag or vest, then I guess you're in for a treat as the knife will not come out on its own. The blade is 4mm thick, which is a little thin for the 6" blade length, especially as the blade has little spring to it, so be careful as it should've been at least 5mm thick and ideally 6mm. The handle length is perfect, but the handle needs to be plumped up to provide a better grip. One side of the serrations is 1mm offset from the other side, and one side of the blade has a center ridge that curves to the right but at least returns to tip. Swinging the blade around feels fairly easy on the hand but some hot spots start to creep in from the square handle shape. If I didn't get the knife on sale, I would likely return it, but it's not a total loss.For the good, the thin dagger design does have something graceful to it that I find endearing. If only the handle and sheath were elvish green with golden lanyard rings to complement the design. I don't own any dagger such as this and it is very light and swift, so the needle design is pretty cool and desirable for a knife collection. The edges are super sharp for the most part, but I have low expectations for edge retention. It looks like the type of knife I want to love but the build quality is just not there. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but more of a no than a yes. There's just not any other knives like it in this price range. Anyone with a decent job would view this knife as disposable. If you need to fill up a stash of cheap emergency supplies, it could be worth throwing in. This knife could also be good for a hiking backpack in the mountains. I suppose it's a fairly big full tang blade for the price, but I would need it to be cheaper or better before I change it from a 3 to a 4.
