I cut it in half for my under dash am/fm stereo and drilled a hole in each side to attach it to the unit.

measure before you buy.
It did not fit under the dash on my 1970 ford LTD. It is aprox 8" deep and it would need to be mounted on something more like a truck or a jeep, something with a deeper dash.
