Fantastic
I’ve tried a few methods to learn piano. So far, this has been helping me significantly with my finger placement on the keyboard as well as slowly progressing me into learning sheet music. With no prior experience of any kind, this has helped me quite a bit. Still working my way through the book and trying to master each page before I move forward. Trying to get all that muscle memory. Once it moves to sheet music and it clicks a lightbulb goes off and it makes reading music so much better. Thoroughly enjoying this thank you

Finally Know What I’m Doing!
I got this book because my mom was going to give away her keyboard and I took it to my house even though I’ve had no formal lessons. I can read music and play some very basic songs, but with no sense of what I’m actually doing. This book starts at the very beginning and I’ve taken the time to read through every word and watch every video even if it’s something I already know.I’m a little more than halfway through and already feel way more knowledgeable and skilled. I never understood how pianists could play all those notes with just 10 fingers, and figured my hands were too small to ever do it, but I was wrong! There is an art to finger placement, and this book teaches and guides it.The pace of the book is great, it gradually gets more complex, and in an order that makes sense to me.One piece of advice I have for anyone who gets this book is PRACTICE! Sure, I can sloppily get through some of the songs with no metronome, but I won’t move on until I feel like I have perfected a piece, timing and all. I practice every day, and can feel the muscles in my hands learning. Often, I tell myself I’ll practice for 20 minutes, and the next thing I know and hour+ has passed.

Great book for adult learners
This book is great for Adults learning piano. What I like best is the author’s selection of music you learn to play. There is another book, Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course, that often gets lauded as the better teaching book. In many ways I agree, especially in learning to play by recognizing intervals. Ferrante’s book gives you the fingering throughout, where as Alfred’s teaches you without that and he teaches you more theory, which is better for learning in the long run. And if you don’t mind playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Merrily We Roll Along then go for that book. Ferrante’s book, on the other hand, gives you more inspirational and satisfying songs to play. Yes, they are harder to learn in the beginning, but worth it. Ideally, I recommend getting both books. I go back and forth between the two often. Especially when I get tired of playing kiddy songs.

Great book for adult beginner!
I found this book very helpful. I am 75 & just wanted to be able to play a few simple songs on the beautiful piano I bought many years ago. The author starts from the very beginning—locating middle C. And gradually adds notes, timing, chords until I was actually playing a song I recognized. The videos that you can access on YouTube are also helpful. If you have no musical background & want to learn to play the piano, I would highly recommend this book. I already bought book 2 for when I finish the first one. I did also order the silicon overlay for my piano that names the keys. I find that helpful in playing. Maybe that is cheating, but I am old & do not have any time to waste memorizing the keys!

Good book but.....
I don't particularly appreciate giving things bad reviews, especially if I did learn something from it. So, do I think this is a good book you can learn something from? Yes, there is definitely a lot of good things to learn from this book, But would I recommend it to someone who is just learning to play the piano? NO. The reason for that is that although there are many songs in the book, it would help even more if I had an idea where I could find an example that I can listen to of every song the book is trying to teach me, that way I can practice while I hear them at the same time. I am someone who wants to learn from 0, not only it goes kind of fast, but how could I double-check If what I'm playing matches the real song. That's about my only complaint about the book. Again i don't want to discourage anyone from picking up this book as I do think is good, this is only feedback on the hope that whoever is selling this book realizes what they could do better for those who would purchase this book in the future.I am not getting paid or anything for what I am about to say, I'm just a regular customer but if someone wants to compare this book to another I suggest you compare it to "Alfred's Basic Adult All-in-One Course, Book 1" That's how I realized what one book is doing better over the other, in Alfred's songs you will find where you can find them in youtube (by name, page of the book in which the songs are located).
