I dont know what you get from more expensive shells but this is the one that came with the turntable and as I had a new cartridge and fancied swapping between the two carts, thought I get one. It works does as it says on the in.

Looks great but make sure the arm on your deck is relatively straight A’s this head shell has quite an angled finish

Worked well with my Denon DP-300-F

These are good quality, made of some sort of 'plastic' and thick enough to be rigid enough to not cause resonance problems and I use one with a V15 MK3 cartridge with no problem but I am hesitating putting a moving coil one in due to their need for more shielding due to low output and need of higher gain, if you use head amp for gain. If your lucky enough to have a matching transformer type you might be lucky'Have revised my opinion on PLASTIC; am pretty certain it is ''METAL'' so my previous comments regarding shielding are unfounded, sorry if this has been misleading to anyone, but have not tried a MC cartridge as the amp connected only has MM input, it is a very good arm/head shell to play V15 MK3 as well as it does; still being surprised by quality of sound coming from the ATL3 turntable.
