Good quality 1\4 the cost of OEM

2015 RAM 1500,ZF 8HP70 installed this with ease, I was very hesitant to use this product due to the price but I was surprised at the quality . Only time will tell if the gasket holds up but overall a good quality product for a very inexpensive price. I used the old fasteners for my pan and drain plug , also used Valvoline max life instead of the expensive lifeguard fluid and it shifts and responds better than new . The old fluid and magnets definitely showed wear after 129,000 miles. I will update if it ends up leaking .

Grand Cherokee 8 speed transmission service kit for a fraction of costs.

Looked at part stores for this item and was extremely high. This one cost less than half of what the local stores here want for it. And it includes the pan with gasket attached, filter, new drain bolt and mounting bolts.

Works like OEM when all instructions for Install and Chrysler fill procedure followed

Pan fits like OEM perfectly, following torque specifications. Replacement for 2015 Durango SSV 3.6L 845re with transmission cooler @ 55K. As mentioned by others, expect to only get 3-4 quarts of new Mopar 8&9 Speed ATF 68218925AB back into transmission if you do not flush transmission cooler and lines. Best bet is to run with new fluid after pan replacement then refill at next motor oil change cycle in 3-5K, draining and refilling the transmission fluid again with remaining quarts of transmission fluid. Follow Chrysler instructions on cold fill, cycling transmission gears and keeping temp between 86F-122F, opening fill plug and taking out excess ATF when warmed up. Transmission works like it did new without slight cold start roughness. Recommended product.

If you have a grand Cherokee, get a 90deg T40 wrench

All in all great product. I’m a 30yr diesel tech and don’t stray far from OEM normally, but for the price and reviews I wrote before, I decided to give this pan a chance. Other reviewers are correct, TAKE YOUR TIME, TORQUE the bolts, and clean all surfaces. Then you will be just fine. My Snapon torque wrench only goes down to 6.8Nm, (spec in directions is 4Nm +90 deg) for bolt torque. I did the 6.8 and was not able to quite get 90deg with my little T40 angle wrench, but they’re all the same torque near what they want, most important is the torque sequence so it lays flat. You’re holding fluid in a pan, not holding back thousands of pounds of hydraulic fluid, so common sense here. They’re is no rocket science to the seal, this pan is indistinguishable from the factory, same heat fins, same drain plug, same thickness, filter as part of pan, and also has magnets in the pan (as the factory also does) to catch the clutch plate wear materials. My main recommendation is if you have a grand Cherokee (not sure about RAM, etc) you will absolutely need a very poor access T40 angle wrench to get the 4 bolts closest to the torque converter side of the trans. A 1/4” or 3/8” with any wobbly will not work, period. I tried them all, I have them all. I put a pic of the T40 you want, I’m sure you can find it on Amazon for $10 or less. You can use valvoline ULV fluid, but there’s not much price difference for what people are selling the correct mopar 8/9 spd trans oil for. I picked up 7qts for $99. I have had guys (and myself) try max life and non ULV fluid and completely ruined the transmission in only 11 miles (shifting gets jacked up and smashed wrong gears, plus slipping) and will then cost $6k (for just 11 miles of driving) for a rebuild. So yeah, just run the right fluid for $99 instead of 6 grand for a trans rebuild. I bought 7 qts mopar fluid for my grand Cherokee; but found out the drain/refill (not flushing lines, cooler, TC) you only need 3 qts. Since I have 4 quarts left, I’ll drive it for an oil change 3-5k and I’ll drain and refill one more time with remaining fluid. This will be sufficient for the next 70k and I’ll service pan gasket again at that time. Also there is a small quart hand pump they sell for like $9 and it works perfect to pump the quarts into the fill hole. There is no way (even with valvoline quart bags) you will get it in there, so just buy that slick little hand pump and your job will go great, and will functions perfect and no leaks. You’ll still save yourself like $600 by doing it yourself. Double check the transmission cooler lines running along side the pan also as they’re prone to rub and make a hole in the line, may need to tweak them slightly so they don’t rub (it’s this way on the factory pan also). Take your time, do it RIGHT and you’ll be fine with this pan. Pleasantly surprised how good (identical) it is to factory pan/gasket.

Looks just like the Mopar trans filter

fit just like a $325 Mopar filter. seems the same quality. Pic is the A1 and Mopar filter side by side. identical looking at them. Time will tell. I feel the Mopar has a better gasket.

DON’T TRUST IT - cry once!

I try very, very hard to not leave negative reviews. I am utterly disappointed with this transmission pan.To be clear, the pan itself is probably fine - I hope it is because I am using it - but the bolts are absolute garbage. Read the reviews - there are others that say the same. I bought this for my 2014 Chrysler 300 AWD and the pan fits perfectly fine - looks just like OEM.While torquing the bolts to the required 10nm, per the spec in the instructions that come with the pan and online, one of the new bolts broke off in the transmission case. There was little to no way for me to extract the bolt (without buying more tools and spending a lot more time on my back) so I had the car towed to a local shop where I know the operator and had them remove the bolt and finish the transmission service for me. They had to replace a second bolt because it was damaged. Was the second bolt damaged by me or was it just poor quality, who can tell at this point? I know that the bolt that broke was not yet at 10nm when it broke off.Because of the lack of quality in these bolts, this job cost me an additional $266 (and change) to have the shop complete a job that, while cumbersome and detail intensive, I should have been able to complete in a couple hours at home.If you plan to service your own ZF transmission, buy an OEM pan & filter! This is a case of you get what you pay for – shame on me for trying an inexpensive solution for my transmission servicing. I’ve heard it said before regarding auto repairs – “Cry once” – meaning, spend the money to do the job right or you’ll spend the money to do the job again! One last note - not directly related to the oil pan itself - If you plan to service a ZF transmission, be sure to buy the right ATF! ZF and Mopar have special ATF for 8-9 speed transmissions which is required for these!
