Just as advertised.

This small but versatile backlight for microscope use is perfect for my watchmaking hobby. I use it to see through the jeweled pivots of the mainplate and bridges, as well as the balance cap jewels, and to confirm the jewels are clean and not cracked. Works like a charm. It is extremely portable, and thin enough to keep under the microscope without interfering. Highly recommended!UPDATE: The backlight stopped holding a charge after about 6 months. Tomlov support was quick to replace it free of charge under warranty, and I had a new working backlight under the microscope within a few days.

My only complaint is since I got it the top cover of the light lifts up a bit. It doesn't really affect its use, and I can either push it back down periodically or apply a bit of tape to keep it in place. In all, it doesn't really bother me.The light works really well to replace the old one on my cheap microscope. I also use it as a backlight for a pocket microscope I have. The light is rechargable, so it doesn't need to be plugged in continuously. The battery life seems pretty good, and the size is convenient to travel with.

Not the fault of of the seller but Amazon delivery was 2 days late and wrong address

I bought this to use for scanning 35mm mounted slides using my mirrorless dslr camera. It made all the slides look very purple, I could not find a way to fix that. I ended up getting a light from a place called Negative Supply, it works tremendously better, colors come out very true to original slides. This TOMLOV light is very bright though and does not create any pixelation on the scan like some backlights will.

I bought this for my husband’s hobby at stamp collecting, and he’s extremely happy with the purchase. He now can establish the colors of his stamps more clearly. The magnification is perfect for stamp collecting. I bought a separate up light so he can look for watermarks. The scopes camera is so clear and precise. You can actually see the fibers of the stamps which are not present to the Eye.
