Being And Time (Harper Perennial Modern Thought) Paperback – 22 July 2008

This book is absolutely essential if you are into continental philosophy. It is not a an easy read in fact this book will need years to slowly digest, and appreciate. One of the pinnacles of modern philosophy, irrespective of heideggers own political affiliations

If Critique of pure Reason woukd considered the starting point of German thought that goes back to "originary" thinking, it finds its pinnacle in Heidegger , through Hegel and Nietzsche.The first sections of the book especially, the concept of Being (with a big B), and its phenomenological analyses is surely an original thought. The nature of Being encountered , as Dasien, which encounters, things ready-to-hand (in its series of involvements) , and things present-at-hand (in its separation from the thing) is what I took as the most important claim of Heidegger.Later parts are somewhat drawn and easily appears to descend into psychological generalities, yet they still appear quite original in view of Heidegger's "originary" concept of Being.I must say this was one of the books that "turned" my thinking in its course of knowing and I am sure it will do for you too. A must read.It would be a better read, if you come via Hegel, Kant and Nietzsche .

First time I'm not satisfied with the seller uRead-Store.Got the book @1123rs. To be honest it is worth for maximum 700rs considering the below concerns. That cost too is for the content of the book only.1) Book looked as if someone ordered the book, opened it, used, returned back to the seller and they kept open in dust without any cover for so long.2) Book's white front cover has stains.3) Few pages' corners have been folded.4) Book's front cover's right bottom corner looks as if folded.Not satisfied with the quality. :(

It is a PDF and that too very old that one cannot read well seems Amazon is not checking the product well.
